On the problems of searching for universal legal ideas

Abstract

The article analyses the globalization prospects in the field of legal ideas. With the view of searching for universal legal ideas, the subject and methodological foundations of this process are specified. Special attention is paid to the ideas of natural law which claim to be universal ideas. One of the most promising, in this respect, ideas – the idea of human dignity – is marked out. The special role of the German lawyer Samuel von Pufendorf played in the introduction of the ideas of the natural law to Russia is particularly pointed out. Suitability of the usage of the methodology of philosophic comparative science when making a research of legal doctrines for the purposes mentioned is substantiated.
