Abstract

The article analyzes the requirement for auxiliary towage by way of example of rules and customs of the ports of the Russian Federation, Great Britain, the USA, and Canada. The circumstances where vessels can be free from the use of towboats in a port as well as the cases of restriction or absolute prohibition of auxiliary towages are considered separately.
