The witness’s testimony in Russian criminal procedure: perfection of legal regulation

Abstract

In the article there actual problems of legal regulation of the witness’s testimony institute in modern criminal procedure of Russia are considered. Under the witness’s testimony the author means information given not only in process of examination, but also at the process of taking other investigative actions. It is proposed to improve the procedure of examination of witness, in particular, to use video conferencing in process of preliminary investigation. The author speaks out in favor of strengthening of criminal liability for false testimony and in favor of consolidation of the witness’s protection.
