International Relations and International Law in the Ancient World

Abstract

The author disagrees with the notion that the modern world comes from the Middle Ages. In his view, any barrier between the classic world and the modern one is artificial. Modern state, law, religion and culture originate in the classic world, and all our mentality with its development would be a complete mystery for us if we did not know that its origins had been created in the classic era.
