Blood diamonds
Abstract
The article describes the tragic destiny of a sea liner “Morro Castle” and the majority of its passengers and crew members. The vessel was on its voyage. One of the passengers who was obviously tended to committing crimes learnt that there were diamonds 7 million dollars worth in the safe of 73-year-old multimillionaire Cathleen Morrison. Being obviously tended to committing theft and even murders, he stole the diamonds. The captain Willmott discovered the theft and started the investigation. Fearing the disclosure, the thief poisoned the captain, gravely wounded Cathleen Morrison and then set fi re to the vessel as a result of which 140 people died, mainly women and children, and the vessel was burnt.
