Role of the UN international strategy for disaster reduction in the development of international relations as to the natural and technological disasters

Abstract

The analysis of the international relations is presented in the scientific article on decrease in danger of disasters of natural character. The author investigates activity of one of UN divisions which directly is engaged in this activity. In work the characteristic of the main stages of development of the international relations in the field of disasters and a role of the International strategy of disaster reduction of the UN in their formation is given. Documents of General Assembly of the UN — the resolutions adopted concerning response of the world community on occurring disasters or for their prevention are analyzed. The special attention is paid to value of a number of the international documents accepted within the World conferences on disaster reduction. The author draws the conclusions about UNISDR activity, analyzes its positive and negative sides.
