On biosocial nature of crime
Abstract
Object of the research is conceptual approach to examination of the nature of crime. Objective of the research is to state and substantiate main points of conceptual approach to the research of the crime as a systemic, constitutive factor of which is represented by behaviour of a human as a biosocial being. Theory of systems allowed formulating acknowledgement of the crime as a social system, although such an approach does not exhaust the depth of this phenomenon. The human is implicitly recognized a biosocial system, situated in the centre of other interactive biosocial systems and constituting an element of the latter. Hence, the methodically accurate scientific position is that a human principally occupies a central position in criminological studies of the crime. At the same time comprehension of the human not only as a social “player”, but viewing him with consideration of his biosocial nature is conceptually important. In terms of the mentioned positions the author draws a conceptual conclusion, that at researching of the crime as a specific phenomenon criminology should proceed from biosocial basis (nature) of human behaviour. At the same time the understanding of a human as a biosocial system in connection with his ontogenesis and manifestation of activity, is essential. Biosocial nature of the crime becomes apparent not only in specificity of the mechanism of criminal behaviour, but above all in specificity of its determination. Refs 28.
